The owner chef and wife are incredibly nice. The food is next level. While you have to order only how it is on the menu (no mixing tacos). You won't be disappointed. I had the corn quesadilla with meat that came with 2 side sauces, home made. When the chef presented the plate he shared his suggestion on how to use the sauces and they were delicious. I could have had the same meal again if I was not full. A bit on the higher priced side but well worth it. The burrito my husband had was incredibly tasty and full of flavor. This was clean quality ingredient Mexican food as opposed to heavy and greasy. I would say this is gourmet Mexican. Definitely going back

You could easily drive right by this spot and not realize it's an incredibly delicious and authentic Mexican restaurant. It's delicious, and there's usually a line to get in even though it's in an unassuming parking lot on the edge of Golden. One of the unique things on the menu is the real corn flan for dessert. This is different than any I've had before, and it was delicious!

I'm so glad we stopped here after our hike. It's a little non-assuming place next to a liquor store but the food is so delish! I had the Huevos Montados and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. It's 2 Grilled Ham & onion quesadillas topped with poached eggs & their signature Pork Chile Verde - just perfect! He had the Tacos Albanil skillet, which he professed was too much food and then totally cleaned his plate. Yum!

Bueno! Bueno! Bueno! The drink menu is unique and amazing. The tacos? Mwah! Quesadilla Suiza dipped in consume! Count me in. Be sure to have the Elote Flan! Service was great. It is very cute inside and totally different than you would expect from its outside appearance. Highly recommend!

Was looking for a good Mexican restaurant in the Golden area that we were going to be passing through last week and started pulling up all these great reviews for a taco place on the north side of town called Xicamiti la Taqueria Bistro, right at the corner of where Washington St. hits 58th. Turns out I'm just way behind the times. The place has been rockin' it for over 4 years and I'd never heard about it. Went in and glad we did. "Xicamiti" I learned, is the name of Mexico's national flower, the dahlia. Walter Meza, the owner (along with his kind wife and children) run the place and it is really excellent. Nothing fancy, but like a nice not-hole-in-the-wall street taco place, serving great food and equipped with a bar and probably 30+ seats or so inside along with a nice patio outside that gives a great view to Lookout Mtn. and Clear Creek Canyon. Had one of the most delicious quesadillas I've ever had (even though Walter said his personal favorite is the tacos campechanos). Give it a try and if you're interested here's the back-story (for you restaurant history buffs:). https://www.5280.com/the-tale-behind-the-triumph-of-goldens-xicamiti-la-taqueria-y-bistro/ Adios mi amigos, David "Nino di Xicamiti" M

4.5 stars. I've been wanting to try Xicamiti for awhile because of its high rating on Yelp. It's located right on the edge of Downtown Golden. Street parking isn't too bad for that reasons. My partner and I walked in and got seated immediately. It was fairly busy, but service was quick. I ordered the Chicharron and Camaron tacos, both of which come in threes. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. The salsa was also SO spicy. Each taco was packed with ingredients, and I definitely want to come back to try more of their menu items, from appetizers to burritos!

Holy smokes, the best Mexican food I've had in recent memory! Quick, amazing service, and unbelievably delicious. It's an unassuming restaurant next to a liquor store, but don't be deceived. They gave a warm welcome, and the owner came by several times to make us feel welcome, and explain dishes etc. We ordered compechano and Camaron tacos as well as quesadillas for the kids. The tacos had a generous portion of meat and fixins. The compechanos had some spice and were my favorite, while the Camaron tacos had a fresh flavor with more vegetables. Even the quesadillas were good. I will certainly return!

If this was to be my last meal, I'd die happy. This place is small, unassuming, with simple and clean dining room. We stopped in on a Friday late afternoon before heading out of town. I'm so glad we did. We flew out of Denver back to Detroit the next morning and I couldn't bring myself to eat anything else until back in Detroit, as nothing. Would or could be as good as the food from Xicamiti La Taqueria Bistro. The owner greeted and served us. I started with a Horchata while we looked at the menu. I asked him what he recommends, and was happy to take his first suggestion of pork belly tacos as being the most flavorful. My husband chose for steak tacos, no cilantro. I wasn't starving when we visited, as everything tastes better when you're starving, but these tacos were incredible. The right blend of spice, sweet pineapple, hunks of tender pork. Just the right amount of green onion and slaw. Then there's the hot sauce. It was hot. He suggested that I add a couple drops on top to kick the flavor. I used all of mine and the ones on my husband's plate. (He doesn't do heat). I was in heaven. The horchata was cooling and refreshing. I left with my mind blown at how good the food was we just had. I only wish I was hungry for more. To try other tacos. You CANNOT skip a visit if you in the area.
